Photography Internship available:
We need help. We are fortunate that our clients not only came to us once with their fingers crossed, but they liked us enough to keep coming back and referring us to their friends. It’s not the worst problem to have, but we’re really busy and decided it was about time to pull in an intern who would like some experience in the field.
Here is a little bit about us:
We are Eco-Friendly
We like working with charities and local non-profits
We are “generalists” – we shoot everything. It’s more fun that way.
We like to each shoot to be it’s own thing.
We prefer to work with cool people
Here is some of what we can offer you:
How to pose subjects
How to offer photo suggestions and find out what your clients are actually looking for
How to stop taking photos that look like everyone else
How to charge appropriately for your services
How to build a client base that you want
Here is what we are asking from our Interns:
You have to be 18 to apply
Don’t apply unless you are a current student applying for the internship for school credit, or you can exhibit some level of commitment to the profession
You have to own a DSLR camera – Canon is the best, but we are open-minded
You can commit 10+ hours per week, for 3+ months to this internship
You are nice, confident and have your own creative ideas to bring to the table
Duties
Filling contracts from our clients
Doing paperwork because we have to
Editing photos and assisting on shoots
Marketing and email management
Updating our website and social media sites
If you are interested in an internship position – please send an email to contact@breaphotography.com with answers to the following questions and a link to your portfolio:
- What’s your name?
- How old are you?
- What artists do you like/admire/study (not just photographers please)?
- What days/times are you available?
- Do you need school credit? What do we need to do to satisfy your school requirements?
- What type of equipment do you have?
- Do you have experience in this field?
- This will involve a lot of hands-on work. Do you want this internship?

Here is a progression of photos from Emily and Ray’s wedding. They wanted the “First Look” to be special…
Posted some new photos below from the exhibit at The Luminary “Old Media/Old News”
I just had a conversation with my husband about the ethics of food. We have decided to only buy local, free-range meat and reduce our meat consumption (which was already low). I love that our city is a place where this is possible. Can’t wait for Farmer’s Markets and the McAnally garden in the spring!

We are Green!
So how can you be a green photographer? That’s kind of a tough one. We do our absolute best to insure that we aren’t making a big carbon footprint. One thing we are doing this year is introducing Eco-Friendly Albums. I was so impressed when I visited Wild Magnolia’s site: www.wildmagnoliadesign.com and can’t wait to get our goodie box from them! We were really excited to get a hold of some beautiful and sustainable albums to offer our clients! Here are a few more things to we do to keep things green:
- Digital Camera’s
- Rechargeable batteries
- We offer digital proofs rather than printed proofs
- Electronic delivery of images through e-mail, FTP and our website
- Provide Eco Albums
- Recycle old gear
- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle everything possible
